ICELAND
During my artist residency in the breathtaking Snæfellsnes Peninsula, Iceland, I’ve been exploring the land’s deep connection to mythology and magic. In the video, you’ll see me and my puppet creating magic water during a sunset ritual. We were inspired by a book called “Hidden Creatures of Iceland”, and we fell in love with the idea of summoning a water horse—a mythical creature said to roam these lands. Creating magic water seemed like the perfect first step in our summoning adventure.
But let me rewind a bit. The residency house is situated between the sea and the majestic Snæfellsjökull Glacier—an active volcano with a glacier sitting on top. Fun fact: in Jules Verne’s “A Journey to the Center of the Earth”, Snæfellsjökull is the entry point for the journey! And in 1993, people from all over the world gathered here, believing it was the landing spot for aliens.
We saw this magical mountain every day from our window. It’s no wonder we started to believe in water horses too.

DUSTY
Shifting from Iceland’s magical creatures to another creation of mine, meet my friend Dusty. I made him for a gallery show in Petaluma, California (at the Nannygoat Gallery), and Beautiful Bizarre Magazine wrote a lovely article about the show, which you can read here.
Now, Dusty is special—he has a dice he rolls every day, with two options: "good" and, well, you guessed it, "evil." He’s constantly torn between these two sides! But I promise, Dusty is a good boy (as long as you treat him well). He’s still waiting for a nice home, and if you'd like to adopt him, you can do so here.

THE INNER CHILD
For another gallery show, this time in Tucson, Arizona, I created a painting called “The Inner Child” (more updates on the show to come!). I loved the piece so much that I decided to make a limited number of A3 Fine Art Prints on gorgeouHahnemühle paper. If “The Inner Child” resonates with you, this print could be a constant reminder to nurture your own inner child, just as it has been for me.
But act fast—prints are only available this weekend, since Monday is my only shipping day! You can order one through my online store. (as long as the print is still there, you can order it)
LOVELETTER FOR YOU
As a special thank you for being part of this journey with me, I’m offering to send postcards of “The Inner Child” to anyone who wants one. Just send me your address at hello@claudiasix.com, and I’ll pop one in the mail for you when I return from the U.S. in early November. I can’t wait to send a little piece of my art to your mailbox!

OTHER THINGS I DID ENJOY
I am going to the gym since a few months and, surprisingly, I love it. I thought that the people will stress me out but it is such a good lesson to focus on myself and ignore the rest.
I also enjoyed getting lost in self doubt and cooking high protein pumpkin soup (which is simply pumpkin soup with silken tofu as a secret ingredient). And that was a lie, getting lost in self doubt is not enjoyable but the soup is!
And for cozy autumn nights, I highly recommend the game Bramble: The Mountain King—it’s wonderful!

That’s all for now from Iceland and beyond. May your days be filled with magic, pumpkins, and good dice rolls! Until next time, Claudia
